Golfing is possibly one of the most addictive sports in the world and it’s because of the fact it is virtually impossible to conquer the game. There are so many different aspects to the game and it seems like most golfers tend to focus on the parts that are not as critical as others. It has always been a mad phenomenon to see folks paying cash to go to the driving range on a day-to-day basis while the putting greens are left empty despite the undeniable fact that it is free to practice on them. Putting is where all the scoring happens but most golfers will still invest thousands of greenbacks on the newest irons and drivers while failing to spend a cent on their putter. Most golfers will spend hours on the driving range while only spending a time on the putting greens during their rounds. This is why people need to appreciate that putting is the most significant and you should take these 3 basic systems to be well placed to master the art sort of putting.
Be Comfortable
Forget about conforming with what teachers say about putting grips and how you must hold it. Remember that putting is all about feeling comfortable over the ball and so having the right putter should be your first concern. The price of your putter will actually not figure out how you feel over it as a $10 putter can feel great in your hands. Often a $400 Scotty Cameron putter will not work well with some players and so you need to take it slow with finding a putter that will permit you to feel comfortable.
Practice and Prepare
The best thing to do is to go to the putting green and take only one ball out and act as if you were on the golf course. Give each putt every oz. of your attention and target being able to make that one putt. Don't get into the practice of having 10 balls on the green and then putting each one into the hole without being conscious of how you feel during each putt.
Make a Routine
Putting is all about getting over the ball and reciting the same routine before each putt. This implies that you'll have a mental routine before each putt and then you will be able to execute it regardless of what pressure you're feeling. Most pros will admit that there aren't any more “nervous” feelings on the putting green because they are so caught right up with their routine that they tend to forget all about the stresses of the contest. Creating a mental routine is what will help you overcome all putting Problems.
When I was trying to find out how to enhance my putting with these 3 basic techniques, I spotted that putting simply became less complicated. The secret is to turn the mental game into a routine game as this can lead you to never over think and to simply just repeat the same routine after each putt.
